Richmond, North Yorkshire is an ancient market town - the 'Mother of all Richmonds' - Richmond Castle which still dominates the town, overlooks the largest cobbled market place in England, was built shortly after the Norman conquest in 1066.
Richmond has a strong tradition of craft guilds dating back to medieval times. Over the years most of the craft guilds have dissapeared, but is proud of its heritage in carrying forward the tradition of bootmaking in Richmond.

Today is the last remaining British Bootmaker actually manufacturing walking, military and motorcycle boots in the UK.

If you are ever in the Yorkshire Dales visit our factory - we don't do 'Factory Visits' we are a working factory but the Factory Shop has glass all along one side through which the bootmaking can be observed.
