"The best quality boot in the world is no good if it does not fit - all feet are different - so there is not one boot that fits all - fitting is always a compromise - but our aim is to offer the customer a choice of the best fitting from the boots currently available in the market - not just Altberg boots - we make 5 width fittings - but some people's feet are better suited to other bootmakers lasts. So as well as Altberg boots we supply and fit Scarpa, Miendl, Lowa, Zamberlan, Brasher and other leading makes at our factory shop in Richmond.
"It should always be noted that even the best bootfitter can do no more than suggest what may suit a customer - his suggestion will be based on measurements and experience. However, the only person who in these circumstances can decide if the fit is right is the customer and boots should not be worn outside or too much inside during trying on. The bootfitter is not responsible for the final decision on fitting, this rests 100% with the customer - boots which have been worn outside or show signs of wear even if just worn inside, cannot be returned for reasons of suitability or fit. Also the customer is responsible for the cost of returning boots for credit or exchange."
