"Old boots become like old friends - but eventually they must be replaced. "We don't throw away our old styles we store them in our archives. "Where possible we try to use the original leathers and materials - but when this is not possible we use materials and components from our current stock. "The fitting will be the same - we have used the same lasts since Altberg started - it has never changed and won't be changed. However, your old boots will have become moulded to your feet and be softer - like slippers...the new boots will need to be 'walked in'. At first they will feel different to your old boots...it is also a possibility that your feet may have changed!!! "There is an extra charge for archive styles - it takes time to get the old knives, tooling and patterns out of stock...and the old stylestake longer to make because they are no longer our regular work. "One of the great pleasures we have at Altberg is welcoming back old customers.
