| "OFF THE SHELF" ORTHOTIC FOOTBEDS |
|

I remember the first time I met the UK distributor for Superfeet Footbeds. I think it was in 1993, he started to explain to me how these special footbeds worked. One of the first things you learn as a bootmaker is the bio-mechanics of the foot so I could relate to what he was saying and I was very impressed until it came to the price!!! Back then the most anyone had ever paid for a footbed was £6.99 and these Superfeet were three times that price!!!
However, I've got narrow feet, I've always had problems with joint alignment and in recent years I'd been finding that after about 6 miles my feet lengthened as the arches dropped and my knees and hips began to ache.
To some extent this was normal, its part of the aging process bit I thought I'd give them a try.
About a month after I first started using them I went to the Himalayas, two weeks climbing up towards Mardi Himal outside Pulchara and then some time walking around Annapura towards Mustang. I was wearing McKinley boots I'd made specially for the trip, they were great but the footbeds made a huge difference. I returned to Richmond a convert.
Nowadays I even wear off the shelf heel orthotics in my shoes at work and as for the price - they are one of the best investments I've ever made.
