The Borego High Bandog was first
developed in 2002 for a group of riders
led by Chris Scott. They planned an
expedition to explore the limits of
motorcycling in the Sahara.
They traversed the covert trails of the
contrabandiers, made an illicit
excursion to the Ténérés famous lost
tree, then west to the barren lava fields
of the Hoggar mountains.
The Borego Bandog boot combined
the know-how Altberg had gained
over many years making military
desert boots and we applied this to
the conditions likely to be encountered
during desert riding; baking hot days,
freezing cold nights and hours spent
standing "on the pegs", thanks to
Chris Scott, for his excellent feedback
and also his great book (Desert Riders)
and DVD. www.adventure-motorcycling.com
The Borego High Bandog is a good boot for hot dry
X-Country riding - first developed for a trans Saharan
desert expedition and used since then in various hot
climate environments. Firm midsole is ideal for long
periods standing on the foot rests - the aspen micro
sole absorbs some vibration, and the internal ankle and
instep are protected with astro shock.
SOLE: Skywalk aspen micro MIDSOLE: 883 med/firm polypropelene LINING: Cambrelle - does not have waterproof membrane LEATHER: Full grain Anfibio water repellent suede 2.2mm SIZES: 6 - 11½ inc ½ sizes
