"I'm a police motorcyclist in West
Yorkshire, I've worn your boots for
the past three years. In June this year
I commenced an advanced motorcyle
refresher course, on the first day I was
involved in a serious road traffic
accident! I collided with a car that had
pulled out directly into my path - was
launched over the car, landing some
30 metres down the road. I was taken
by ambulance to a nearby hospital. I
believe, as do many others who have
examined my boots with morbid
fascination since the crash, that they
undoubtedly helped to minimise my
injuries, although both my ankles were
swollen as a result of the impact no
bones were broken and I was soon
able to hobble around unaided.
