We started making the McColl shoe in 1992 mainly for ourselves to wear on days when boots weren't really appropriate, people started asking if we'd "make them a pair"... so we did ... and it is still going strong. For people who want good sturdy footwear for light day hikes - or just around town - the McColl is exactly right. It is lightweight, the leather is strong anfibio and the cambrelle lining is comfortable 'all year round'. Many of our customers who have worn McColl's for years tell us they are like 'old friends', not just another pair of shoes.
