COMPANY HISTORY
The Alt-berg bootmakers have been manufacturing walking boots and hiking boots since 1989. At their boot factory in Richmond North Yorkshire they manufacture trekking boots for all outdoor activities - Trekking boots, adventure travel boots, hiking boots and walking boots. The first walking boot manufactured by the Alt-berg boot manufacturing company was the rambler boot. A leather one piece upper with soft ankle cuff made for a traditional style rambler boot. Ideal as a walking boot for use in the Yorkshire dales or in the Lake District. The rambler boot was produced as the Alt-berg hiking boot company's main trekking boot for a number of years. Gradually the range of Alt-berg outdoor footwear grew to include travel boots and show, trekking shoes and adventure travel shoes. Alt-berg is a hiking boot manufacturer who still manufacture their walking and adventure travel boots in England at their hiking boot factory in north Yorkshire. The Alt-berg walking boots or traditional English walking boots - leather hiking boots with a good cleated skywalk dual density sole. They have always used skywalk soles on their hiking boots because the skywalk sole rubber is slightly softer than other soles and in certain conditions the skywalk sole gives a more adhesive grip.

The skywalk sole brand is very strong on the base of the sole and people often refer to Alt-berg boots as skywalk boots or skywalker boots. It is not unusual for Alt-berg hiking bootmakers to receive calls asking to order a pair of their skywalk boots. In the early days as a walking boot manufacturer and trekking boot supplier the Alt-berg hiking boot makers considered changing the name of their walking boots to skywalker boots or skywalk boots - however as time has passed people have become more familiar with the company and its walking boots and these days there is less confusion about Alt-berg outdoor footwear and skywalk boots or skywalker boots.

Alt-berg are situated at the gateway to Swaledale in the Yorkshire dales. It is in Wensleydale, Swaledale and the Yorkshire dales that Alt-berg developed their walking boots. High on the Swaledale fells - or the Yorkshire Dales pastoral foot paths, Alt-berg walking boot manufacturers started to make their walking boots and trekking boots. Their aim was to make the best british walking boots for the worst british weather - and at times in Swaledale, Wensleydale and the Yorkshire dales the weather can be one of the best walking boot testing grounds in the world. In winter in the Yorkshire dales you need hiking boots and outdoor footwear that will keep your feet dry and warm. Trail boots for the Swaledale moorland foot paths, hiking and Swaledale fells. The awesome beauty of the Yorkshire dales and the remoteness that is encountered at the head of Swaledale, wensleydale and arkengarthdale makes testing walking boots one of the more pleasurable jobs that the Alt-berg hiking boot makers do. Next time you look for a pair of hiking boots, outdoor footwear or walking boots, think of the Yorkshire dales. Picture Swaledale or the beauty of wensleydale - imagine your walking boots on the remote trails and foot paths at the head of arkengarthdale and then think of Alt-berg walking boot manufacturers in Richmond in the Yorkshire dales, at the gateway to Swaledale and wensleydale. Walking boots made by English walking boot makers - the best hiking boots - in the best place.

When first setting up as trekking bootmakers the Alt-berg hiking boot manufacturers mainly made boots that would suit the foot paths and trails of the Yorkshire dales - Swaledale and Wensleydale. After a few years they had requests from people wanting more specialist outdoor footwear. As a result they developed a walking boot more suited to mountain boot conditions. Previously all Alt-berg hiking boots were either 2 season walking boots or 3 season walking boots. The mountain they developed called the McKinley mountain boot was a 4 season trekking boot and although not suitable as an ice climbing boot, or winter climbing boot, the Alt-berg mountain boot had an extremely stiff polypropylene midsole and a crampon compatible skywalk sole. This made the mountain boot a good crampon compatible boot but only for walking boot - strap on flexible crampons.

The Alt-berg mountain boot was tested in the English lake district in winter and the cairngorms and Cuillin mountains in Scotland. The mountain boot has a high ankle cuff in full grain leather that give excellent ankle support. The mountain boot worked well on glacier crossing in the alps and proved to be a good 4 season walking boot suitable for mountain boot conditions, whilst still being a leather mountain boot - as opposed to a plastic boot.

During the 1990's the Alt-berg trekking boot manufacturer developed its first full range of adventure travel boots and shoes. Alt-berg trekking bootmakers had been making military boots, desert boots and jungle boots for some years so the move to adventure travel footwear was a natural progression.

Alt-berg the specialist military boot manufacturers and military footwear suppliers has supplied NHS footwear to ambulance units for many years. Ambulance personnel require an ambulance service boot to give support in a wide variety of conditions - from road accidents to rural calls and urban use. The Alt-berg peacekeeper p1 boot has been supplied as NHS footwear as an ambulance boot and has proved to be a good ambulance unit boot for driving as well as being a sturdy ambulance boot for attending RTA's. The peacekeeper p1 boot is accredited to BSEN 347 occupational boot use - a level which satisfies most NHS footwear requirements or ambulance unit footwear. Where a high degree of safety boot is required Alt-berg boot manufacturers make the peacekeeper p3 safety boot to BSEN 345 (new standard BSEN 20345). This boot has a steel toe cap and steel midsole - this makes it suitable for more hazardous NHS footwear use and ambulance driver's footwear use.

A recent development from Alt-berg has been the overlander duty shoe. This military shoe is used by many officers as a police shoe. It incorporates walking boot technology and military boot development to make a sturdy walking shoe. A number of ambulance drivers and NHS personnel prefer this as an NHS shoe or ambulance drivers shoe. The soft leather upper makes it very comfortable for all day wearing. The duty shoe superseded the Alt-berg original NHS footwear shoe - the ambulance drivers shoe - the McColl. The McColl continues in the military footwear and remains a favoured footwear for the ambulance drivers. The newer overlander duty shoe is more lightweight and has a more supple leather upper. Whatever your requirement for nhs footwear or ambulance drivers footwear - Contact Alt-berg, british boot and shoe makers since 1989. Alt-berg the Yorkshire boot and shoe manufacturer.

A specialist niche for Alt-berg is paramedic footwear. Paramedic boot and shoe requirements are similar to ambulance driver boot and shoe needs. Paramedics are often required to work in more hazardous surroundings traveling by air, motorcycle or vehicle to the scene of accidents or sudden illness. NHS footwear requirements are varied but as a specialist NHS footwear supplier Alt-berg military and police boots are issued to many paramedics. The Alt-berg helicopter units boots, the peacekeeper P1 police boot, and the Alt-berg motorcycle boots - roadsters or classics- and the Alt-berg safety boot - PSU boot - the peacekeeper P3, all are suitable in the appropriate environment. If you require paramedic footwear or paramedic boots contact Alt-berg, NHS footwear suppliers and military boot manufacturers since 1989.

The Alt-berg jungle Boot was first developed for use in Belize and later in Malaysia. The jungle boot design is similar to the desert boot design. The jungle boot underfoot support and the jungle boot underfoot protection is excellent. In a jungle boot, moisture retention is even more crucial than in a desert boot. The 1000 denier cordura jungle boot panels do not hold moisture and the jungle boot leather is Pittards WR100 water repellent jungle boot leather. It is tested to absorb no more than 6% of its weight in moisture in jungle boot or wet conditions for a period of 100 minutes. A jungle boot that absorbs moisture makes for a less hygienic jungle boot and a heavier jungle boot. The Alt-berg jungle boot is designed to have less jungle boot weight gain and better jungle boot drying out properties.

Almost all sponge has been removed from the inside of the jungle boot and the jungle boot removable footbed is an airgrid design. On the inside instep of the jungle boot there are two ventilation eyelet holes for expelling water. This is an essential design feature in all jungle boots.

In 2004 Alt-berg developed a microlite jungle boot - the microlite jungle boot sole is an open cleat and has performed well in a range of jungle boot activities. The microlite jungle boot has also been used by some military training personnel as a lightweight tabbing boot. The microlite jungle boot has excellent shock absorption qualities as well as having all the other main jungle boot features of low moisture absorption and high jungle boot underfoot support and quick drying abilities.

The Alt-berg original Jungle boot and the Alt-berg microlite jungle boot are a key part of the Alt-berg military boot range and are acknowledged as being one of the best jungle boots in the world. Unlike most jungle boots which are either soft and bendy or use steel plated soles, the Alt-berg jungle boot has all appropriate jungle boot properties of jungle boot underfoot support, jungle boot sole grip and jungle boot low moisture absorption. Another world beating product from Alt-berg - the Alt-berg jungle boot.

Alt-berg first started making army boots, combat boots, military boots and RAF boots in 1989. Alt-berg started as a walking boot manufacturer but soon started a strong reputation as a military boot / army boot manufacturer. Specialist boots and Special Forces boots were requested and Alt-berg was able to adapt its walking boot technology to produce army / military / combat boots to meet the needs of a special forces / specialists combat boots. Military footwear soon became a significant part of Alt-berg's boot manufacturing capacity. The first military footwear and staple product in the Alt-berg boot manufacturing capacity was the field and fell military boot - designed for the wetlands of south Armagh - a warm military boot that made an excellent patrol boot or wet weather boot. The field and fell military boot was used by military personnel on OP duties where other military footwear caused the foot to become cold and damp during periods of observation - The military footwear developed by Alt-berg keep the feet warm and dry. Following this boot Alt-berg next developed its military footwear to include a lightweight military boot - The peacekeeper boot. The peacekeeper boot was an instant success with regiments as varied as the special units to the RAF regiment.

The military footwear range was again developed further when the Defender boot was introduced. This military boot was similar to the peacekeeper boot - military footwear - but the midsole was the tough polypropylene midsole as used in the field and fell boot, this made the defender boot more suitable for rough terrain use. The three military boots; the field and fell boot, the peacekeeper boot and the defender boot made up the first range of Alt-berg military footwear. This range has now expanded to include; Desert boots, Jungle boots, Combat boots, Hot weather boots, SAS boots, SBS boots, Iraw boots, RAF boots, Marines boots, Desert Storm boots, Patrol boots, Silent approach boots, Tabbing boots, army boots and special forces boots - one of the most comprehensive range of military boots and military footwear available in the world - and all produced by Alt-berg - British boot maker / military footwear manufacturer.

Alt-berg the british military boot manufacturer produces a wide range of military boots and because Alt-berg is an actual boot maker it can easily make 'one-off' specialist boots - over the years Alt-berg has made "silent approach" boots, SBS rapid attack boots, marines boots, tabbing boots and rapid intervention boots for an incredibly varied range of uses. Alt-berg have made cross country ski march boots - supplied its ski march boots to the Swedish rangers. The Alt-berg ski march boot is robust with above ankle height and can be double lined for insulation if required. Alt-berg will make its x country ski march boots to suit the customer requirements. The Alt-berg silent approach military boot was developed from its successful microlite desert boot. Nowadays a number of serving personnel use this boot as a tabbing boot - it is a lightweight boot - a shock absorbent boot and the silent approach boot is made from soft leather so there is no 'leather creak'.

From x country military ski boots to silent approach boots, from a specialist marines boot to SAS rapid attack boots - the Alt-berg bootmakers make military boots for all conditions. Combat boots and army boots - military suppliers and manufacturers to HM forces all over the world. At the Alt-berg boot manufacturing company we are often asked how our military boots compare with other makes. There are many good makes of military boot on the market; Lowa boots, Danner boots, matterhorn boots, meindl boots and hi-tech magnum boots are just a small selection. As military boot makers Alt-berg has experience of most of the makes of military boots on the market. All are excellent in many different ways. Lowa boots are a good fitting boot. The lowa military boots were initially supplied with a leather inside collar and goretex bootee lining. - nowadays the lowa boots have a breathable inside top collar. The vibram sole on the lowa boot is a good gripping sole and the PU wedge gives the lowa military boot good shock absorption. Lowa boots use a graded nylon midsole which gives excellent underfoot support and protection - in many ways lowa boots are very similar to Alt-berg military boots. The lowa military boot specification is as good as for example the Alt-berg field and fell military boot or the Alt-berg ranger military boot.

The Alt-berg patrol military boot uses softer leathers around the collar compared with the lowa boot and there is a trade off between the military boots of comfort and support. The Alt-berg patrol boot and the Lowa boot each being excellent in their own way. Lowa boots has recently introduced the lowe desert boot. The new desert boot is a high leg desert boot with all the quality of construction that one would expect to find in a Lowa boot. Over the last nine years Lowa boots and Alt-berg military boots have both been recognised as excellent military boots suitable for many specialist military boot applications. The new Lowa desert boot extends their range and adds to the choice of quality desert boots available from military boot suppliers and military boot manufacturers.

The Danner boot company is an old established American boot manufacturing company. The danner boot is a veltshurn construction ie. The danner boot has an outside stitched down midsole - the lining or goretex bootees being lasted under. The danner boot construction is based on the earliest boots used in the south African veldt. The lacing on danner boots goes well down the foot past the metatarsals - this gives some adjustment of forefoot fit on danner boots. The Alt-berg combat veldthog high is also veldtshon construction high leg military boot. Although the fit of the last is different to the danner boot the construction is very similar - incorporated waterproof bootee, although unlike the danner boot which has a single stitch veldt - the Alt-berg combat high veldthog boot uses a double stitched veldt for increased sole security. Danner boots like Alt-berg boots can be resoled. This is not always the case with other makes of boots but danner boots are a traditional construction which can be resoled by any competent military boot repairer. In the usa as in Britain, boot manufacturing is in decline. The danner boot company like Alt-berg has continued to produce great military boots and the survival of the danner boot company and the Alt-berg boot company is a testament to the quality of the danner boot and the Alt-berg military boot. Several police units use the danner boot as a police dog handler boot and several police firearms teams use the danner boot as a firearms boot for field boot conditions. Alt-berg military boots, danner boots and Lowa boots are normally only available from the best military boot suppliers. The Alt-berg military boot company, the danner boot company and the Lowa boot company are all makers of excellent military boots.

The cove boot co of martinsburg PA. USA is the proud maker of the matterhorn boot. The matterhorn military boot has been around a long time and that is testament to its traditional boot manufacture. The Matterhorn boot is a Goodyear welted military boot, high leg with good quality leather. The matterhorn boot uses a vibram sole and this is cushioned with a micro midsole which gives a good level of forefoot and heel shock absorption. The lasting pattern on the matterhorn boot is similar to the danner boot in that it comes past the metatarsals and allows for some forefoot adjustment. The Lowa boot, the hanwag boot and Alt-berg boots all use the European design of overlaid bellows tongue with 'D' ring lacing.

The matterhorn boot and the danner boot use the inlaid bellows with eyelet lacing lower down. Both types of lacing are good and work well. The matterhorn military boot was used by the british troops in Kosovo - especially during the early part of the conflict intervention. Quality military boots like the danner boot, the matterhorn boot, the Lowa boot and the hanwag boot are at their best in field service conditions. The quality construction of the matterhorn boot can be seen from the attention to detail in the stitching, sole edging and general finish.

A number of uk police forces use the matterhorn military boot for their dog handler boot and the matterhorn boot is also available in the colour brown as a gamekeepers boot or hunting boot.

At Alt-berg we are bootmakers and we appreciate good military footwear. The danner boot, the matterhorn boot, the Lowa boot and the hanwag boot are all fine examples of bootmaking and all compare well with the Alt-berg military boot range.

Hanwag boots are very similar in looks and design to the lowe boot however the fit is slightly different. The hanwag boot is a deeper last which gives slightly more volume over the foot. The hanwag military boot range is again a good selection of quality military boots and although the hanwag military boot has not been as widely distributed in the uk through military boot suppliers this is in no way a reflection of the quality of the hanwag military boot. The latest Alt-berg military boot - the combat lowe military boot is similar in design to the Lowa and hanwag military boots but the Alt-berg combat lowe boot used a micro wedge midsole for shock absorption with a full rubber rand and skywalk sole. The hanwag boot and the Lowa boot use a vibram sole with a PU shock absorbing midsole - same as the Alt-berg combat lowe military boot. The hanwag boot company also produce a range of walking boots and hiking boots. Hanwag boots are well respected all over Europe and represent good quality military boot and walking and hiking boots. The handwag military boot - the hanwag special force gtx uses a goretex bootee construction. Alt-berg are a british military boot manufacturer but we still appreciate good bootmaking and the hanwag boots are military boots made in germany and are good examples of military boot manufacture.

Meindl boots are better known for their walking boots, hiking boots and mountain boots. However Meindl boot company have long been making military boots to the same high standards as their hiking boots and walking boots. Meindl military boots have all the attributes of german design and manufacture - a generous fitting last and good quality. The fit of meindl is similar to the hanwag military boot and the Lowa military boot. The construction of the meindl military boot is also very similar to the Lowa boot and the hanwag boot. All these are flat lasted and have composite adhesive attached sole - this is the same construction used on Alt-berg military boot - with the exception of the veldhog range of military boots which use the veldtshon construction the same as the danner military boot and the matterhorn military boot.

The meindl boot company make a desert boot which has been used by individual soldiers in the british army and performed well as a desert boot on active service in Iraq. The meindl military boots have not been as widely distributed in the uk as the Lowa boots, hanwag boots, danner boots or matterhorn boots but this is not a reflection of the quality of their military boots but possibly more to do with their concentration on the walking boot and hiking boot market where they have an excellent reputation as quality walking boot manufacturers.

The fit of a walking boot or military boot is the most important thing and although the quality of all the military boots and desert boots mentioned above is of a similar high level - the actual fit of the military boots is different. Best advice when buying military boots, desert boots, jungle boots or police boots - get the right fit - try the Lowa boot, then try the hanwag - test at the meindl military boot, then if you wish a different construction - try the danner boot and the matterhorn boot. One of these boots will suit your fit better than the other. Its nothing to do with the quality of these military boots and desert boots - they are all good but all feet are different. When it comes to military boots, desert boots, jungle boots or police boots - comfort comes first. Next time you buy a pair of boots try them all - Lowa boots, Danner boots and matterhorn boots, hanwag boots and meindl military boots. And last but not least - don't forget to try the Alt-berg military boots - an excellent range of boots from a british boot manufacturer. Military footwear, boots and shoes from a british boot maker.

The final military boot that is worth considering when choosing boots is the magnum boot or hi-tech magnum boot. This boot is good value for money. Generally less expensive than the Alt-berg military boots or police boots the magnum boots are seen as being "instantly comfortable". This may be due to hi-tech magnum boots being more flexible underfoot and in many ways 'spun-off' from their training shoe designs. The magnum boots come in various styles - the basic magnum boot model is for urban use - non waterproof it is comfortable in dry conditions. Other models of magnum boots go to high leg magnum boots or ankle height magnum boots. The hi-tech magnum boot is also available with a waterproof bootee lining. Many serving police officers use hi-tech magnum boots for police duties. The shock absorbing soft soles make the hi-tech magnum good for pavement walking and driving duties. The higher spec hi-tech magnum boots have stiffer midsoles for rough terrain and where a hi-tech magnum boot is fitted with a waterproof bootee then the hi-tech magnum progresses to off road use and rural duties.

In recent years hi-tech magnum boots have been used by HM forces as a hot weather boot and is issued by HM forces as a remedial boot for where a soldier needs a softer boot - Hi tech magnum boots can help.

Many soldiers and police officers use the Alt-berg military boot, the Lowa boot, danner boot or matterhorn boot - however - as a value for money boot the hi-tech magnum boot takes some beating.

As an ambulance service boot - the hi tech magnum boot is used widely. The bottom lacing is with eyelets and the d rings are higher up the magnum boot leg. This makes the magnum boot look comparable visually to a black service shoe.

Most of the military boots, police boots and ambulance service footwear that are available today are all good boots in their own right. Lowa boots, hi-tech magnum boots, danner boots, matterhorn boots and hanwag boots - try the fit before you buy - no matter how good the military boot, it is useless if it doesn't fit and this is just as true for the military boots made by the Alt-berg military boot manufacturing company as it is for the hi-tech magnum, the Lowa boot or the danner boot.

Two years after Alt-berg - the British boot manufacturer and British military boot manufacturer - had started making walking boots, motorcycle and military boots, British police officers started to purchase the military boots as police boots for police boot duties.

The Peacekeeper boot was the first police boot to be taken up by officers. The Peacekeeper police boot is a lightweight but sturdy police boot suitable for a wide variety of police uses. The Peacekeeper police boot and law enforcement boot has a number of key features essential in police footwear and police boots -

  1. Police boot heel shock absorption
  2. Police boot slip resistant sole
  3. Police boot waterproofing - especially important in police footwear used for police search teams and as a dog handler boot
  4. An element of flame retardancy - essential in a police boot for use as a public order boot or a PSU boot and particularly used as a police helicopter boot or police air support unit boot (ASU)
  5. Steel toe cap - again essential in a public order boot (PSU boot) and also a police general duty boot where conflict may be encountered on police patrol duties
  6. Steel midsole - essential for a public order boot (PSU boot) where underfoot protection is needed - a police boot that can cope with glass, nails and sharp objects in conflict situations, a public order boot (PSU boot)
  7. Comfort - serving police officers footwear must be worn all day on shifts so the comfort of police boots and police footwear is most important.

Alt-berg police boots are ergonomically tested to BS-EN344,345,347 (footwear) for police boot comfort. Alt-berg police boots and police footwear do not incorporate all of these features in each police boot or police footwear, instead the range of police boots is such that the appropriate police boot / police footwear features are incorporated into each boot to achieve fitness for purpose - for example - a non steel toe cap police boot, with a flexible police boot sole and cambrelle police footwear lining may be most suited to driving and non-conflict patrol duties. This police boot is the Peacekeeper P1 Boot.

The peacekeeper boot P2 is the same as the P1 police boot but incorporates a steel midsole for police boot underfoot protection especially in a "rapid intervention" situation. The Peacekeeper P2 boot is a very specialist police boot and Alt-berg police boot manufacturers, military boot manufacturers, police boot suppliers and military boot suppliers only make this boot as a made to order police boot.

The Peacekeeper P3 police boot is a steel toe cap police boot and steel midsole police boot CE marked to BS-EN 345. This is the Alt-berg police PSU boot, an excellent public order boot. This PSU police boot has been tried and tested as a piece of police public order footwear in many conflict / riot situations. This boot is used as a general issue police boot by a number of british police forces where a good patrol boot is required for everyday police boot work.

The Peacekeeper P1 Aqua police boot is a general duty police boot, a lightweight piece of police footwear which is in all respected exactly the same as the Peacekeeper P1 police boot. The major difference is that the Peacekeeper P1 aqua police boot has a waterproof membrane lining. This makes it a first class police boot for rural and winter conditions, but still a good boot for police driving duties and normal patrol boot duties.

Finally the Peacekeeper P3 Aqua police boot which is very like the Peacekeeper P3 law enforcement boot, but this law enforcement boot also has a waterproof membrane lining making it a more suitable law enforcement for rural conditions. The Peacekeeper P3 Aqua police boot is ideal as a police search team boot or as a police mounted unit stable boot.

This is the range of Alt-berg peacekeeper police boots and police footwear, five law enforcement boots all aimed at various sections of the police footwear market. Alt-berg has been a british police boot manufacturing company for many years. Alt-berg law enforcement footwear has stood the test of time and will continue to develop as Alt-berg aim to become the best police boot manufacturer in the world.

Helicopter unit boots, air service combat boots, ASU boots - all need flame retardency, flexible sole and comfort. The Alt-berg ASU boot is the peacekeeper P1. A first class air support unit boot used by police air support units all over the uk. This boot is also used as an air rescue service boot and air sea search boot for serving RAF AW/Sea rescue units.

This is another area where Alt-berg the specialist military boot supplier and specialist police boot supplier has developed and designed a boot to suit a purpose. Alt-berg, the british boot manufacturer - with another great police boot.

The Alt-berg dog handler boots and police dog handler footwear - this is a specialist niche that Alt-berg police dog handler boots entered many years ago. The first question that Alt-berg asked was what are the special needs of a police dog handler boot? The answers we received back from officers using police dog handler boots, prison service dog handler boots and security service dog handler boots was; 1) A waterproof dog handler boot, 2) A dog handler boot with good underfoot support, 3) A lightweight police dog handler boot - high leg military boot that would be suitable for running with police dogs and exercising police dogs, 4) a police boot sturdy enough to give good foot and ankle support. It was with criteria such as these that the Alt-berg police dog handler boot was developed and this police boot, the field and fell boot, has since been used as a HM Customs and Excise dog handlers boot, a prison service dog handler boot and an MOD dog handler boot. Where dogs are used and there is a need for security services footwear - the Alt-berg field and fell, a police dog handler boot has given excellent service.

Over the years Alt-berg has developed its range from the field and fell original dog handler's boot to a range of dog handler boots that now comprise of four models. As a police boot supplier and british police boot manufacturer Alt-berg realised that there was a requirement in the police dog handler boot market for a more diverse police dog handler boot range. The field and fell microlite dog handlers boot - a much more lightweight version - and where police dog handlers are required to run then the saving in weight on this dog handler boot is appreciated. The Defender aqua microlite has proved to be an excellent dog handlers' boot or active service boot. The soft cuff and lower height make this a more comfortable police boot when driving vehicles, however it still has all the qualities expected of a police dog handlers boot - waterproof boot, police support boot and rough terrain boot for police searches. A rapid deployment boot that is suitable as a rough terrain boot and still a good boot in rural conditions. The defender aqua microlite police dog handlers boot has a waterproof bootee membrane. This makes it a good police dog handler boot or prison service dog handler boot especially in rural search activities.

The final boot in the Alt-berg police dog handler range is the peacekeeper p1 aqua dog handler boot. This is a more bendy boot than the Defender police boot and this makes it a better police boot for urban duties.

Next time you require a pair of police dog handler boots, prison service dog handler boots or security services dog handler footwear - look at the Alt-berg police boot range and the Alt-berg military boot range - police dog handler boots for all environments. Alt-berg a british boot manufacturer for british police footwear.

Alt-berg police firearms boots - or the police firearms teams boot (ASU boots) was first developed by Alt-berg as a military boot and Special Forces boot. Through the proximity to catterick garrison Alt-berg has long experience of manufacturing military boots for use in extreme conditions. Alt-berg combat boots have been developed as jungle boots, desert boots, SAS boots and SBS boots, special forces boots for a wide variety of military boot conditions.

As a military boot manufacturer and military footwear supplier, Alt-berg's army boots have developed a reputation for good reliability. A police firearms team boot suited these requirements, there are three boots in the Alt-berg police firearms boot range;

  1. The field and fell combat boot or the field and fell microlight combat boot. This boot has recently been complimented by the Ranger military boot. The field and fell military boots have been in service longest and has been used as a police firearms boot for many years. The field and fell boot has a waterproof bootee lining and a polypropylene all terrain boot midsole. As its name suggests the field and fell combat boot is 'at home' in the field where a police fire arms team boot or an all weather military boot is used for patrol duties or covert boot duties.
  2. The peacekeeper p1 military boot and police boot. This police firearms team boot does not have a waterproof bootee lining. This is a more breathable police boot, developed as an urban combat boot or urban police boot. The advantage it has as a police firearms team boot is its more flexible sole and midsole. This allows the peacekeeper military boot to bend easily in to the kneeling to fire position, very useful for lengthy operations. The peacekeeper police firearms team boot is also lightweight making it an excellent rapid response boot or rapid insertion military boot or police snatch boot.
  3. The Alt-berg patrol military boot. The patrol boot is a newer development from Alt-berg. The softer upper leather and special police boot asymmetric collar design make this an extremely lightweight military boot - or light weight police boot. The lightness of this military boot also makes this an ideal rapid response boot.

When it come to law enforcement boots and law enforcement footwear Alt-berg, the british military boot manufacturer has over the years developed an excellent reputation as a police boot manufacturer and police boot supplier. If you are looking for a specialist police footwear supplier or specialist military footwear, but also a british footwear manufacturer and british boot manufacturer then look no further than Alt-berg bootmakers. Boot manufacturers in Richmond, north Yorkshire, England since 1989.

Alt-berg for all your law enforcement footwear - to BSEN345, 347 and 344 or the new updated standards BSEN 20345, 20347 and 20344.

This is another range of specialist police boots from Alt-berg the British bootmakers and military footwear supplier.

A police PSU boot must give toe and underfoot protection. The Alt-berg peacekeeper P3 psu boot does exactly that. This steel toe cap boot is accredited to BSEN 345 full safety boot standard. (new standard is BSEN 20345). The peacekeeper P3 police psu boot also has a full steel midsole for underfoot protection.
