Made to order boots are made specifically at the customers request - they are not stock boots and they will often incorporate custom made and extra features that help the customer achieve a more satisfactory fit - they are ' one off boots'.
Made to order boots are made on a standard width fitting last - they are not 'made to measure'.
Made to order boots may be subject to changes in materials and components - our main criteria for the boots we make is functionality - we will periodically use materials and components which vary - however - the quality and performance of these materials/components will be at least equal to or better than those which they replace - we reserve the right to make improvements to our made to order models as and when opportunities arise.
We make 'made to order' boots - as requested by our customers only on a non - refundable / non-returnable basis for fit and suitability - for this reason customers are urged to make sure of their boot size and boot suitability before going ahead with their order - we advise factory foot assessment & fitting - however these are simply guides - the final decision rests entirely with the customer.
On made to order boots we require a deposit of 30% with the order - there is normally a period of two weeks between placing an order and us beginning to cut leather - if you cancel your order prior to any to any work being started then the deposit is refundable in full - if you cancel after work has started then the deposit is either partially or non refundable depending upon how much work has to be done prior to cancellation.
The waiting time for made to order boots can be very difficult to predict - this is due to the 'one off' nature of the boots and occasionally the need to source individual components. When your order is received you will be given an anticipated 'boots ready' date - we will normally contact you when the boots are ready however we do not automatically contact you if the 'boots ready date' is going to be later - we make up to 100 pairs each week of 'made to order' boots - we normally have eight weeks of orders in progress - most are individual orders - it would be unrealistic /impossible for us to contact all of our customers should the anticipated dates change. In the event that you have not heard from us that your boots are ready we would ask that you allow us at least one week after the anticipated date before contacting us for an update - at that time we should be able to give an accurate 'boots ready' date.

Altberg®is not a dedicated website business. We are bootmakers and the website is not managed continually. We update our site approximately every three years - so styles will change and specifications will alter. If you want up to date information on any style, delivery date or specification you should contact the factory - they will normally be able to send you an up to date brochure or inform you of any recent product changes.
