Boot Fitting Advice & Options
UK MOD uses its own unique fitting system of full UK sizes with a choice of medium or large volume for each size (med or large).
Both the men's and ladies fittings have a narrow heel and waist and the toe depth is designed to be used with or without the fitting adjustment spacer - see below.
Men's and ladies fittings are different, the ladies uses a specific ladies shape for forefoot, heel and waist, developed by Altberg during the past twenty years of making and fitting ladies boots.

Remove the Airgrid footbed.
Put the flat micro spacers into the boot (make sure it is lying flat in the boot).
Put the Airgrid footbed back into the boot (on top of the spacer).
Try the boots on again, there will now be less room in the boots.
ALWAYS KEEP BOTH BOOTS THE SAME
NEVER PUT THE SPACER IN JUST ONE BOOT

boot lacing
Lacing gap over instep may enhance comfort.
Push heel to back of boot before lacing firmly, but not too tightly over the instep.
Never lace around the leg.
Tuck away lace ends, either inside the boot or through the lacing.
Tuck lace ends into tongue pocket - if there is one fitted on your model of boot.
Always fully unlace. Unlace top loops, then pull laces backwards from the double locking ring to free the lower lacing. Too much force when putting on, or taking off boots could tear the lining or damage the ‘D’ ring fastening.
Tie a knot in lace ends so that you can fully unlace without laces coming out of the fastening loops. Bootlace ends should still be tucked away.

Good quality Merino wool socks will enhance all day comfort.
Merino wool is a high quality natural material which will breathe and absorb all day.
Check socks regularly to ensure they are still well padded and absorbent.
Once activity is ended you need to keep feet warm.
Remove wet socks.
Replace with waterproof insulated socks (e.g. Sealskinz with Merino wool).
Put damp socks back on.
