Drying Boots Out

The constant cycle of being wet then dry will eventually cause leather to harden and crack. If boots are allowed to dry slowly and treated with Leder-Gris®, then the leather will remain supple for longer and leather hardening and cracking will be delayed.

STEP ONE

Remove the footbeds and invert the boot (tip it up) for 10 minutes to drain—the toe must be higher than the heel.

STEP TWO

Stuff the toe with newspaper and leave for 5 minutes, repeat until all excess water is removed

STEP THREE

Invert the boots and leave to dry in a cool place to dry as slowly as possible. AVOID heat, sunlight and central heating.

STEP FOUR

Whilst still damp treat with Leder-Gris®

NEVER dry quickly

NEVER dry near heat

NEVER force dry in any way

NEVER leave boots in direct sunlight

ALWAYS treat boots with Leder-Bök® before use
