Where do Altberg make their boots?
Altberg make their boots in 2 factories - Richmond Yorkshire and Treviso Italy.
1). The Richmond factory makes all of the specialist boots and smaller quantity orders as well as designing and developing the new boot models.
2). The Treviso Italy factory - Makes larger orders in batches of 100prs+.
All the Altberg boots continue to be designed and developed in the Richmond factory by the Altberg senior boot maker. When a new style begins to sell in larger quantities, (more than we can make in Richmond), then it is also duplicated in the factory in Italy, which is set up to handle larger batch quantities.
Both factories use exactly the same tooling, lasts , materials and components. This arrangement leaves the Richmond factory free to continue developing new boots, manufacturing specialist boots and making more extreme width-fittings and manufacturing of boots on which the demand is lower.
For the past 20 years the Altberg senior bootmaker has worked one week each month in the Italy factory and three weeks each month in Richmond.
